~ FYE New Moon DVD Midnight Release Party

That was a mouthful, huh?  My daughter and I had a lot of fun last night at FYE in Fair Oaks.  The staff was really “up” for New Moon and made the event that much more memorable.  Though Miranda and I did not do very well with the crossword and wordsearch, we totally mopped up the trivia questions! =)  Both of us ended up with prize bags filled with movies, music, posters and calendars.  In addition to the movie, we purchased the Jacob and Edward figures (like the ones in the photo above) .   Here are a few shots from the party and of the loot we scored.

~ Change in Scenery & Twilight Stuff

I thought it was about time to change my blog theme.  Instead of the clean, white that it used to be, it is now a dark, brooding sort of feel.  Sorry if you came to visit earlier while I was going through different backgrounds.  It was one big mess and I was hoping no one would see the weird backgrounds I was trying out.  If you’re a regular to my blog, let me know what you think of the change.  Don’t worry, you won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t like this current one.  Just let me know!

Alrighty, I’ve been a bit lacking in the Twilight blogging department lately but I can tell you that I am working on three different Bind-It-All projects (two mini books and one spinner album), and a new Team Jacob necklace that I will post here and on the Bind-it-All blog very soon.  I will be attending a midnight New Moon DVD release party with my daughter tomorrow night at the mall.  Oh boy, up late again! =)  While you Twi-fans await my next Twilight projects, enjoy a couple of random pix from the saga to hold you over.

~ Twilight Saga Team Jasper Necklace

Here is another non- Team Edward/-Team Jacob piece of jewelry to join the Team Paul bracelet  I made around Thanksgiving last year.  This one is for another lady that works at Hot Topic.  My daughter and I went in for a visit to see what was new and she asked if we’d ever seen any Team Jasper items anywhere.  She’s crazy about Jasper.  Well, everyone knows quite well that nothing really exists (unless you make it yourself, of course!) outside Edward or Jacob stuff.  We’ll go by the store this weekend to drop it off. =)

All of the items used are readily available at craft stores in the scrapbook section–you just need to look for them!  See the list of supplies at the end of this post.  I resized the pictures from ones I took from the internet.  Check out the rest of my Twilight items by clicking on Twilight in the tag cloud located in the right column of this blog and choosing the specific posts.

~ Blogversary & General Twilight News

Happy Blogversary to me!  It has been two years since the friends I made at Scrap-a-Faire convinced me to start my own blog.  It was a hard decision to make but I am glad now that I have a place where I can share my photos and projects with people around the world!  At last check, there have been 77,718 hits on my blog from a total of 7,900 cities in 147 countries according to Neoworx.  (Yowz!  I’m going to have to doublecheck what is counted as a country on Neoworx.  How many countries are there?  I’m going to have to research that!)  I’m constantly surprised that people actually drop by. =)  Thanks so much for coming to visit me from time to time and taking a look at my work.

Alrighty, that aside, Twilight News!  The Twilight Convention hits my area in April (Arlington, VA).  Woo-hoo!  So excited that it will only be 20 minutes away from my house.  If you’ll be at the Arlington Twilight Convention, please let me know!  We can hang out and maybe team up for Twilight Trivia. =)

Are you a die-hard Twihard?  Then you must have  seen the funny parodies by The Hillywood Show!   If not, drop by their site and check it out.  Soooo funny!

Sorry no new projects these last few weeks.  Been really busy but hope to have some new projects to share with you at the end of the month.  Happy crafting and Twilighting, all!

~ Taylor Lautner Bracelet & a Visit to the Marine Corps Museum

First, let’s get the bracelet out of the way.  I promised my daughter the bracelet once I had a chance to take photos of it.  If you’re a big Twilight/New Moon Team Jacob fan, this Taylor Lautner bracelet is up your alley.  (Sorry, as with all of my jewelry–not for sale!)  Click on each of the photos for a closer look.

Stuff:  7 Gypsies – bracelet, charms; Jolee’s – star charms; Tim Holtz – type charms

Last Sunday, Brian decided to do a site visit to see the conditions of the roads and potential widening at MCB Quantico.  So, we did a drive through the base and ended up at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.  I’m glad we stopped to listen to the docent at the Iwo Jima portion.  He was a Marine who lived through Iwo Jima and is now a volunteer telling the story of the men that fought and secured the area.  His name is Frank Matthews.  I wish him many more strong years to come.

There was an exhibit at the front of the museum of Marines who were killed in Iraq in 2005 from Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division.  Family members donated their boots for this display.   For more information and to see paintings of the men, click here:  Lima Company Memorial

~ Expecting our first snow…

Happy weekend, all.  It will be a good weekend to work on crafting projects as we’re expecting our first snow of the season today.  What to make, what to make?  I need to be inspired.  I’ll come back to that later.

In the meanwhile, enjoy this oh-so-sweet and sunny photo from the upcoming Twilight Saga – Eclipse that I got from Twilighters Anonymous. =)  Speaking of Twilight, New Moon viewings as of last night — 13.

~ Photo Collage Holiday Cards

I was busy this weekend!  I finished 50 handmade photo cards.  Another 20 or so to go.  Usually we opt for a family newsletter each year but we decided we’d go with cards for a change, much less work (for my hubby anyway) than writing a whole newsletter of blah, blah, blah…

Twilight news – The family made a short stop at the mall today to drop of the “Team Paul” bracelet to one of our fave people at Hot Topic.  She gushed over the bracelet like it was the best thing she’s gotten.  I’m glad it made her happy! =)  See post below this one to see the bracelets I made this past week.  On the topic of Twilight-New Moon, my obsession has grown into viewing the movie 11 times now.  {{{Diehard Twi-fan.}}}

Stuff:  PaperSource – cardstock; Making Memories – patterned paper, embellishments; Stampin’ Up! – ribbon
