~ Parting Gifts

So, this is my last week at my current job.  Far be it for me not to have one last share of my craftiness before I go.  I made candy goody bags for the co-workers in MILCON and special bags with extra stuff for my branch.  I wanted to make use of my latest Fiskars punch in my projects since I wasn’t able to teach a class using it. =(  We have a long-standing “purple Thursday” in MILCON so I had custom buttons made by the awesome Emily Adams.

The bags below are filled with other good stuff are what I’m giving to the ladies in my branch.  There is a prolific amount of lilac and honeydew twine from The Twinery, which I totally love!  The bags were 59 cent gift bags I bought from Target and embellished.

Goody bag supplies:

  • flat plastic bags, Dum Dums, Smarties, Kit Kats
  • My Mind’s Eye – patterned paper
  • The Twinery – twine
  • Tim Holtz – mini staples
  • Emily Adams – custom buttons

Gift bag supplies:

  • Fancy Pants – patterned paper
  • The Twinery – twine
  • Tim Holtz – tissue tape
  • American Crafts – ribbon

Here is my latest Bind-it-All project, just a spur-of-the moment “I need to make something” project.  I’ll eventually put photos in the book but for now, here it is. =)  The inside pages are tabbed acrylic while the covers are very thick chipboard.  I pulled the flower off an affordable bunch I purchased at Michaels.

~ Easy Holiday Gifts

I was a busy bee making calendars for my co-workers and teaching three days of classes at work this month.

The calendars above are for the ladies who sit in my row of cubbies who work in other branches.  To make them personalized, I added initials from their first names (Danielle, Ginny, Traci) to the acrylic covers.  Come back next month to see more calendar photos from my January Bind-it-All projects.

On the “teach class at work during lunchtime front” I was growing weary of teaching cards the last few months so I decided to do something different – embellished gift bags filled with candy.  Everything on the white bag was made in class (wreath, ribbon, embossed background, etc.)

Calendar Supplies – Zutter – o-wire; Fancy Pants – pattered paper; AccuCut – acrylic; Sticko – foam alpha letters; Prima – flowers; medium weight chipboard; ribbon

Embellished Gift Bag Supplies – Stampin’ Up! – cardstock, gingham ribbon; Crate Paper – patterned paper;  gift bag, ribbon, organdy circles, bells

One more Christmas-themed book before I start on newer projects.  Each outer page is a pocket holding an inside page for journaling or additional photos or mementos.

Stuff – Zutter – 1″ white o-wire, acrylic covers; Fancy Pants – patterned paper, stickers, die cuts; Paper Source – cardstock; eFavor – ribbon

============

I was so excited with the coming snowstorm that I woke up every two hours just to check the level of snow.  At 7 a.m. everything was blanketed and when we measured at 8 a.m., there was 8 inches of snow on our deck.  Here are a few pictures of my hubby shoveling what we got this morning at 9 a.m.  I suspect the deck will be covered again in just a few hours.

~ Snow Daze & a Valentine’s Card

Lots of ice around here but hopefully it will all melt away this weekend!  Here are a few pictures from earlier in the week and a couple of pictures of a project I will be teaching at a card class at work next month.  It’s been a while since I taught my last class, so I decided to start with something small this year–a flat 6″ square card with a small pocket to hold an old-fashioned school kid valentine.
