It is a new year and I refreshed my blog with a new theme. Out with the old red and black Twilight theme and on to something a little lighter (though you can still see my old Twilight projects in the right margin). I hope to share and post more this year. I plan to do more jewelry projects and papercrafts (time willing) throughout 2014.
Here are a few pictures from a calendar I completed just today for my mom. It is filled with pictures from 2013.

Alas, all good things come to an end. Our big boss will be leaving us for the leisurely life of retirement. This is a project I made for the office to add the their well-wishes for RDML David Boone. The pages are covered in a combination of desert and chocolate chip cookie camo, Washington D.C. and Navy-themed patterned papers. The retirement ceremony is on April 12, so I fixed the clock hands at 4:12. Not sure anyone will that subtle details but we’ll see. =)

Here is my second in a series of Bind-it-All minibooks made from patterned paper scraps. This project is a baby shower book for well-wishers to add their happy greetings.
I also made goody bags for all 35 of my co-workers plus a few extra for Katie’s family. See more photos of both projects in the slideshow below.

While I was thinning out my collection of paper this weekend to give to a friend, I had amassed a pile of scraps, not worthy enough of sharing in current-state. I saw a lot of similarities in the colors and patterns. Instead of throwing the scraps away, I challenged myself to create one project using the bits of paper – married similar styles of different manufacturers – to make this little minibook.

Here is my latest Bind-it-All project, a farewell book (for me, actually) that my NAVFAC co-workers from all over the world added their farewell messages in. Some of the well-wishes were added in person while some were emailed and added to the book.
What is really great about creating a project for yourself is that you can make anything you want it to be. I added little strips inside to show where I have been and when with Naval Facilities Engineering Command.

Here is my latest Bind-it-All project, just a spur-of-the moment “I need to make something” project. I’ll eventually put photos in the book but for now, here it is. =) The inside pages are tabbed acrylic while the covers are very thick chipboard. I pulled the flower off an affordable bunch I purchased at Michaels.

This weekend I made a set of six cards for a co-worker as part of a going away present. She expressed interest in the color orange at the last card class I taught at work so there is a bit of orange in both the cards and the envelopes. In all of the excitement prepping for the Handmade Holidays Blog Hop, I completely forgot to post my latest Bind-it-All OZZ project. So here we go, a farewell book for my good friend, Donna. This book held well-wishes for her as a keepsake to take to her next job.

What are your scrapping plans for 2011? I intend to scrap my photos more often in 2011. Last year I scrapped specific occasions but this year I think I’ll try to group events by month and scrap them together in one book using my trusty Bind-it-All, of course! For today’s blog hop, I’m sharing a new Team Jacob-themed project I made for the Twilight Convention in Arlington, April 2011. This project was really a snap to do as I kept the embellishment to a very bare minimum and the Cover-All gave the project a more bookish-feel. The intention is to provide a place for the autographs my daughter will collect from the convention stars. Right now the inside is empty but it will fill up with pictures and memories from the event. See list of supplies at the bottom of this post.

I was a busy bee making calendars for my co-workers and teaching three days of classes at work this month.
The calendars above are for the ladies who sit in my row of cubbies who work in other branches. To make them personalized, I added initials from their first names (Danielle, Ginny, Traci) to the acrylic covers. Come back next month to see more calendar photos from my January Bind-it-All projects.
On the “teach class at work during lunchtime front” I was growing weary of teaching cards the last few months so I decided to do something different – embellished gift bags filled with candy. Everything on the white bag was made in class (wreath, ribbon, embossed background, etc.)

October marks the beginning of a great season in Northern VA. The leaves change color, the weather is a little cooler and there are so many autumn activities to do. Here are a couple of Bind-it-All books I made for my hubby’s cousins’ families. They were a big hit! I was so inspired by our visit with the cousins that I plan to make each family calendar gifts for the holidays.

How many times have you seen Eclipse? As of yesterday, I’ve seen it 19 times. Yes, a Twi-addict, for sure. Here are my latest Twi projects — 16 month calendars I made as consolation prizes for a contest I hosted on Facebook and a Team Jacob necklace.
I really like how the necklace charm came out. I was tentative at first as I used a variety of items that I hadn’t used together before (deep-set charm, Tim Holtz acrylic pieces, Glossy Accents and Jolee’s heat-set crystals).
